The fuss about Google+ (for developers)
Considering you’re reading a blog, I’ll just go right ahead and assume you’ve heard of Google+ and all of its “facebook killer” gubbins. It seems, initially at least, that the service has hit the ground running and Google are already planning on increasing its presence across all its services, such as Google Mail and… *cough* Buzz. But what has the search-giant offered the developers, in order to create third-party apps and services?
Fun with CodeIgniter & Twitter – Famousmention.com
After stumbling across the fantastic Tank-Auth library and the 3rd-party extension to it by ericbae (available on github), I thought it’d be a good opportunity to finally throw together a twitter web app. The product of this is Famous Mention.com, a tiny web app that allows you to check out who the most famous person to tweet you is & tweet out the result. Incidentally, my most famous @ message was from @leolaporte who has 302977 followers – decent!
The code for this app is available on Github, so feel free to add to it or even tell me what I did wrong/could have done better.
